چکیده
Background: There are many neuropsychological instruments used for screening cognitivefunctions in adults, with or without health problems such asthe MMSE-Ina and MoCA-Ina.
Objectives:This study was designed to test the correlations differences between MMSE-Inaand MoCA-Ina early detection of decreasing cognitive function elderly.
Methods: Total278 subjects were randomly selected from 17 sub dictricts Surakarta Municipality, CentralJava, Indonesia. Data collection carried out December 2018 January 2019, withallsubjects individually interviewed using two tests (which lasted 30 – 45 minutes) alongwith physical neurological examinations. The scores eachparticipant correlated non-parametric Spearman rank test. Both werecompared based on level education gender.
 Results: MoCa-Ina detected MCIwas 215 (77.3%) while 189 (68%), 176 (63.3%) severe 10 (3.5%).This also showed a strong correlation (r= 0.633 p < 0.000). cut pointin this 23/24 25/26 theMoCA-Ina which less than 23 25,indicated impairment.
Conclusion: TheMoCA-Ina is usedto screen impairment Bangladesh Journal Medical Science Vol.20(1) 2021 p.164-169

متن کاملCognitive Impairment in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease; Comparison of Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE)
Background & Objective: Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a transient state between normal condition and dementia. Available data indicates that coronary artery diseases (CAD) may increase the risk of MCI. Hence, the early detection of MCI can prevent the progression of cognitive decline. Materials & Methods: A sample of 65 subjects with degrees of CAD was enrolled to the study. For cogniti...
متن کاملSuitability of the Montreal cognitive assessment versus the mini-mental state examination in detecting vascular cognitive impairment.
The Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) has been criticized as being an insufficient screening test for patients with vascular cognitive impairment because of its insensitivity to visuospatial and executive functional deficits. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) was designed to be more sensitive to such deficits, and thus may be a superior screening instrument for vascular cognitive impa...
متن کاملThe Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) is superior to the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) for the detection of vascular cognitive impairment after acute stroke.
BACKGROUND The majority of patient with post-stroke Vascular Cognitive Impairment (VCI) have Vascular Cognitive Impairment No Dementia (VCIND). The Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) has been criticized as a poor screening test for VCIND due to insensitivity to visuospatial and executive function impairments. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) was designed to be more sensitive to such d...
متن کاملThe Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) is superior to the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) in detection of Korsakoff's syndrome.
The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) are brief screening instruments for cognitive disorders. Although these instruments have frequently been used in the detection of dementia, there is currently little knowledge on the validity to detect Korsakoff's syndrome (KS) with both screening instruments. KS is a chronic neuropsychiatric disorder associated w...
